Keith's Story

Hello friends, Life so far. I have now worked for Central Hudson for 35 years. I am a Federally Licensed Operating Shift Supervisor. I oversee the Bulk Transmission Power Grid for central New York State. I am still taking photographs and plan to retire soon in Hawaii and open my own Photo Studio. I stopped photographing Formula 1 almost 14 years ago, but still get offers to cover events around the world. I have always wanted to go to Singapore and Dubai, so maybe someday I will accept the offer to cover the Formula 1 races in those countries. My hobby and passion for cycling continues and last year I acheived 2 goals I set almost 10 years ago. I rode my bicycle from Niagara Falls to Manhattan in 5 days, just short of 600 miles. I also hit an all time speed record of 51.5 mph. Not bad considering I was 51 when I did it! I average over 5000 miles a year on my bicycle, and cannot recommend it enough. I just love the bike! I have 2 sons in college and all going well, they will both graduate in 2013. My bride of 25 years Mary Lou, well we have been together almost 36 years, having met each other in Victory Markets in 1976 is Saugerties. I still love Earth, Wind & Fire and I still drive a Trans Am. I continue to Surf, Skydive and recently have taken a number of Race Car Driving Schools. Just completed a school with Mario Andretti's son. Incredible! My wife thinks I am in the MIDDLE AGE CRAZY stage of my life. Call it what you may, I am having more fun than I ever had. I guess I will never grow up. I am so looking forward to seeing all of you this year at our 35th reunion. We have people coming from all over the country. Now if I can only get the Saugerties kids to drive the 13 miles to Wiltwyck! 2012's 35th reunion will be my last. I have been involved with every reunion we have had to date, but feel it is time to change the guard so to speak. Please contact me if you would like to take over. We are now hosting a wonderful Chinese foreign exchange student, and all going wel...Expand for more
l, he will be with us for 2 more years. His name is Runnan but he is a big basketball fan and has chosen Kevin as his American name. He love Kevin Garnett (Celtic?) What an incredible experience it has been. He is now, and will always be, part of my family. There is so much I want to do in my life and I continue to dream of crazy things. I have also thought of getting involved in the film industry, behind the camera. I have been a film buff for as long as I can remember and they have always facinated me. Who knows what the future lies, but I look forward to it with wide eyes and unbridled enthusiasm. Write to me any time. I would love to keep in touch with all of my former friends and classmates. 2014 UPDATE. Mary Lou and I have now been married 26 years, although we have been together for nearly 36 years. I surprised her on our 25th by flying my entire family to Hawaii, and renewing our vows at the beautiful Hallekulani resort in Honolulu. My son Timothy has now taken up photography and he is excellent. It is wonderful when your children share your passions. I now have 2 Chinese foreign exchange students, and will be visiting them in China this coming July. I am able the retire from Central Hudson now, but will continue as I am now involved in a series of seminars on improving safety in the electric industry and have become a motivational speaker of sorts. In the near future I will be moving to Hawaii and hopefully will open my Photography Studio, buy my Ferrari and spend the remaining days on the beach, surfing and photographing my grandchildren….at least this is where I see myself in 10 years. My Mom passed away and I am down to one sister, but Gail and I I feel will be close forever. My oldest son Corey accepted a position with GOOGLE in Kansas City and has relocated out there. I am finishing up a video on the first 35 years of our High School Reunions. Go to you tube and hit Saugerties High School Class of 1977…and hopefully, enjoy. Warmest regards, Keith Hudak
